Our client, a public-sector organization based in Maine, is seeking an experienced and strategic In-House Attorney (minimum 5 years of experience) to serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and a governing board. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, community-focused work while maintaining a strong work-life balance. The attorney will provide legal guidance across a broad range of matters, including regulatory compliance, governance, contracts, procurement, real estate, and legislative issues, while proactively identifying and mitigating risk. Responsibilities also include drafting and reviewing legal documents, representing the organization in administrative and regulatory proceedings, supporting board operations, overseeing public records compliance, and managing relationships with outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have relevant legal experience, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to exercise sound, independent judgment while collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
